LEO-20 – LEONARD windscreen 20mm

LEONARD ball is in the tradition of removable front windscreens for use with interference tube-free microphones. Like all other windscreens for microphones sensitive to sound pressure gradient (Cardioid, Hyper-cardioid), the principle is to create a cavity around the capsule in order to reduce the pressure differences on either side of the membrane.

The first “skin” is made of a 3D fabric with selected porosity (Idem Zephyx/Piano/Pianissimo) for indoor use. A removable fur can be added for outdoor use.

Contrary to its big sisters (Piano, Pianissimo or Zephyx), the volume of the LEO is rather reduced and everything is a matter of delicate compromise between size, wind efficiency and acoustic transparency. Nevertheless, its diameter is 10cm (without fur), which allows it to maintain a “soft” sound degradation with regard to its wind efficiency.

Wind protection ball (10cm diameter), for 20mm diameter microphones, like the Schoeps CMC6. Main fabric for indoor use. Extra fur for outdoor use. Compatible with the standard configuration CMC/OSIX 2.
