Teradek Bolt 7 Announcement
The seventh coming of the Bolt -series.
As the autumn season tends to be ripe with product announcements, this years IBC show saw Teradek unveiling their next (7th) generation Bolt videolink. The Bolt 7 is smaller than its predecessor and other external upgrades have been made as well. The biggest new addition is the 900 MHz radio transmission frequency, joining the existing 6 GHz. The 900 MHz band is used for data transfers such as camera control, colour definition, tally as well as telemetry. The Bolt 7 supports up to 4K video signals and has both 12G-SDI as well as HDMI connections.
The Teradek Bolt series is intended for both film makers as well as broadcasters. The range varies from 750 feet (228m) all the way up to 5000 feet (1.5km).
The Bolt 7 -series will be replacing the Teradek Bolt 6 XT -series, however the Bolt 6 LT -series will remain as the more affordable alternative.
Along with the Bolt 7, Teradek also introduced a completely new product called Ace Micro TX, which is used for sending iPhone camera signal via USB-C output without delay and compression to a Teradek receiver, which can be either Bolt 7, Bolt 6, Bolt 4K as well as from the Ace 750 product family.
